Use these mini HDMI-over-CAT5 transmitter and receivers to extend HDMI digital video and audio from a HD digital media source (Sky HD box, Blu-Ray player, PS3, HDTV set-top box, etc.), PC or Mac over CAT5/5e/6 FTP cable to a remote digital displays such as a plasma, LCD screen or projector.

The mini HDMI-over-CAT5 extenders are the perfect solution for simple point-to-point installations. With their compact and lightweight design they greatly reduce installation space and extend the HDMI signals without display and sound quality degredation. Only one CATx cable is required to extend the HDMI signals from the Transmitter to the remote Receiver. Many other HDMI extender systems require 2 cables.

A distance of up to 80m. between the Transmitter and Receiver is achievable depending on display resolution and FTP cable type and quality used. While UTP (unshielded twisted pair) can be used, FTP (foil twisted pair) or STP (screened twisted pair) cable is recommended for greater distance and reduced interference. Most importantly it is essential to use cable with a low skew-rate, typically 25ns/100m. or less. Units are supplied with a 3-pin UK plug-top power supply. A European 2-pin version of each is available at no extra cost.
