Use these HDMI-over-CAT5 transmitters and tranceivers to extend HDMI digital display and audio information from a HD digital media source (HD-DVD or Blu-Ray player, HDTV set-top box, etc.), PC or Mac over CAT5/5e/6 FTP cable to remote digital displays such as plasma and LCD screens and projectors.

This HDMI-over-CAT5 extender and expander system is perfect for larger home cinema and entertainment systems, digital signage, public information display, and any large scale display applications where crystal-clear, high definition digital video needs to be shown without distance limitations and with reduced installation costs.

Transmitter and transceiver units are daisy-chained together to provide an almost unlimited capacity since the digital signals are reconstructed at each HDMI drop-point thereby retaining the original display's full resolution and quality without noise and image degredation. A distance of up to 80m. between each drop-point is achievable depending on display resolution and FTP cable type and quality used. While UTP (unshielded twisted pair) can be used, FTP (foil twisted pair) or STP (screened twisted pair) cable is recommended for greater distance and reduced interference. Most importantly it is essential to use cable with a low skew-rate, typically 25ns/100m. or less.

To simplify installation the units are supplied with a magnetic pad enabling them to be quickly attached to magnetic surfaces. A steel fixing plate with screw mounting points is also included for installations on non-magnetic surfaces. Units are supplied with a 3-pin UK plug-top power supply. A European 2-pin version of each is available at no extra cost.
